Insulation monitors, also known as MD (Insulation Monitoring Device), monitor the insulation resistance in unearthed AC, AC/DC and DC power supplies (IT systems). They measure the insulation resistance of the IT systems against earth. These systems are protected by insulation monitoring devices, which are required by the “Safety of Machinery” standard in IT systems. Insulation monitoring devices help prevent accidents in the event of insulation faults, avoid failures and generally to protect against fire and accidents.
Our insulation monitors are available for direct current (DC) as well as three-phase, alternating current (AC), mixed networks (AC/DC) as well as to monitor switched-off loads. The devices reliably and quickly detect insulation faults even in networks with voltage or frequency changes, high system leakage capacitances, or DC voltage components.
Optimal applications for DOLD insulation monitors include UPS systems, energy storage systems, photovoltaic systems, DC charging stations, generators, and medical technology applications. DOLD’s in-house product development and manufacturing capabilities also enable the creation of customized versions for increasingly demanding applications.
